《火线警探》改编自美国作家埃尔莫·伦纳德 (Elmore Leonard) 2001年知名罪案小说《当心火药》(Fire in the Hole)，讲述美国联邦执行法警雷伦·吉文斯 (Raylan Givens) 使用传统方法解决现代案件的火线故事。
