伊万是个混日子的屌丝，经常假装自己会魔法，虚张声势弄虚作假帮助客户解决问题以牟取暴利。某天他忽然去到一个可以让魔法成真的陌生地方。这个地方被称为贝罗里奥，这里居住着俄罗斯民间史诗里的人物。伊万很惊讶地认识了科西切、芭芭雅嘎、Vodaynoy和Vasilisa。由于某种原因，他们都确信伊万是伊里亚·穆罗梅茨失去的儿子，认为他是拯救贝罗里奥的人。在这个童话世界里，一切都是颠倒过来的：善良战胜邪恶都是曾经的事，并且一个个的战士开始消失，而伊万恰好是最后一位将世界恢复平衡秩序的战士……
