钟家和祝家世代为仇。一年前，重病在身的祝七爷临死前派人将纪家灭门，所幸钟家少爷钟良大难不死，但一颗子弹却留在了他的头中，并且不断擦去他的记忆。祝七爷随后病死，祝家从此也只留下一女，名为祝岚。 为了在彻底丧失记忆之前完成复仇，钟良找到了自己曾经的恋人戴琴，给她一笔重金请她协助自己的复仇计划。然而就在钟良揣着手枪一步步走向一无所知的祝岚时，却被一辆飞驰而过的汽车撞伤，戴琴还没有赶到，钟良被人送去了医院，两人就这样错失。 钟良在医院中醒了过来，身体虽然无碍，却失去了所有记忆。由于半张写着祝岚居住地址的照片将钟良引向祝岚。因此，钟良阴差阳错地和自己的仇人祝岚走到了一起，原本要置对方以死地的他张开了并不宽厚的臂膀，成了祝岚的保护者。但由于戴琴急于找到钟良并和他一起报仇，造成戏班台柱金宝宝的意外惨死。两人来到了祝岚从小长大的乡下生活，尽管拮据清苦，却相亲相爱。不久之后，两人订下了婚约。 但是戴琴的复仇行动却还在继续，为了得到自己深爱的人，她更要除掉祝岚。由于另一半照片的出现，唤起了钟良的记忆，可此时的他深爱祝岚已无法对她下手，他选择结束生命来化解这段仇恨，却被戴琴所救。伤愈的钟良再次失忆，由于多日的相处，最终与戴琴成婚。而此时祝岚遍寻华尔兹（钟良），却得知深爱的人原来是仇人且已有了娇妻。 心灰意冷的祝岚回到戏班唱歌，并且大红大紫，成为歌星。戴琴怕终有一日会失去钟良，便告知祝岚是他的仇人的真相。当钟良举枪要杀祝岚之时却意外恢复记忆，最终，为救祝岚，戴琴与钟良同归于尽。而祝岚也怀上了钟良的孩子，幸福度日。自此，一段纠葛纷扰的仇怨烟消云散。
